We are always looking for new people to join our growing community of Dance Adventures leaders! If you have an idea for a trip or would like to lead one of our current trips, please contact us.

What we look for in our leaders:

  • A passion for the power of dance and travel to change lives
  • Extensive in-country experience
  • Proficiency in one or more of the native languages spoken in your target country (those without language skills need not apply)
  • Certification in basic first aid and CPR at your own expense (preference is given to applicants who are certified Wilderness First Responders or Wilderness Emergency Medical Technicians
  • An understanding of risk management and navigation of challenging environments within the developing world
  • Experience running safe, dynamic and fun trips abroad

All leaders must complete a background check at their own expense and have a valid passport. We also require two letters of recommendation, a Skype interview and answers to the following three essay questions:

1. What makes you uniquely qualified to lead a Dance Adventures journey? We are interested in both hard and soft skills. (100-200 words)

2. What was the last dance experience that deeply inspired you? (100-300 words)

3. When was the last time you deeply inspired someone else–through dance or otherwise? (100-300 words)

Open Positions

We are seeking a part-time Development Intern

Status: Intern (Non-Wage)
Reports to: CEO
Location: Arlington, VA (or remotely)

POSITION SUMMARY
Dance Adventures seeks a bright, enthusiastic, self-starting intern looking to gain insight into arts management and start ups. The Development Intern works closely with the CEO on various tasks. Work may be done remotely.

Time Requirement: A minimum of three months with a minimum time commitment of 10-25 hours per week. The schedule is flexible as agreed upon by the CEO and intern.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The intern will be responsible for (including, but not limited to) the following activities:

1. Research on current and prospective Dance Adventures
2. Outreach to potential partners and customers
3. Social media management
4. Marketing research
5. Outreach to potential partners
6. Event planning for Dance Adventures’ January staff retreat
7. Designs for flyers and other promotional materials
8. Kick starter campaign design and promotion

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for dance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Preference will be given to applicants with experience in Adobe Creative Suite
