Day Activity
Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic. Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start your vacation.
Land in Dublin where you will meet Mickela and your Irish guide. Transfer to your hotel for an early check and then enjoy some time to settle in. In the afternoon, shop for Irish dance shoes and take a private dance lesson with Breandan de Gallai, former Riverdance principal. This evening, you will enjoy a traditional Irish dinner and the evening at leisure. You might like to visit famous pubs and bars in the Temple Bar area to listen to lively music.
Spend the morning and afternoon at leisure in Dublin where you can visit the National Museum, the National Gallery or shops along Nassau and Grafton Street. After an independent dinner, join your group for a literary pub crawl. Experience true Irish craic (good fun) and also learn about many famous Irish writers as you travel to various pubs.
Leaving Dublin, you travel west through the fertile midland region, which has many farms and tiny towns. Along the way, you can see how Irish people make a living from agriculture. En route to Doolin, stop at a local venue for a dance and music session. After your session, have tea and homemade scones with your group. Then continue your journey to Doolin and check into your hotel. You might like to relax and settle in before dinner at a local pub.
Enjoy a relaxing morning in Doolin, a charming seaside village on the northwest coast of County Clare. Traditionally a fishing village, Doolin is now renowned worldwide as the traditional music capital of Ireland. In the afternoon, leave Doolin and drive along the coast to the Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland’s most beloved, natural landmarks. Continue on your journey to Dingle where you check into your hotel and enjoy some time to freshen up before dinner. This evening, enjoy a superb dinner and concert with your group at a local bar.
The entire day is free to explore Dingle. As a market town and fishing port, Dingle has long been well supplied with pubs and opportunities to hear traditional Irish music. Another option for the day would be to visit the Louis Mulcahy Pottery near Dunquin. This company specializes in huge earthenware jars with brilliant blue glazes. Or you might like to visit Slea Head, on the western tip of the scenic Dingle Peninsula. This excursion will give you excellent views of mountains and coastline. In the evening, you are free to sample one of the many restaurants or pubs in Dingle.
We travel to Killarney, a town widely celebrated for its setting overlooking lakes and mountains. After checking into your hotel, spend the remainder of the morning and the afternoon for independent pursuits. You may visit St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral with its soaring spire or the Franciscan Friary with superb stained glass windows. You could also take a walk to Ross Castle on the shores of Lough Leane. Tonight, join your group for a traditional Irish dinner and live entertainment.
After breakfast, you have more time to explore Killarney. In the afternoon, attend a Sean Nos Dance Class, which showcases a regional style of dance similar to tap dancing and step-dancing. The evening is free to relax at the hotel or dine locally.
Sadly, today your vacation comes to an end. Transfer to Shannon Airport to check in for your flight. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying across the Atlantic Ocean back to the United States.
