Dance Adventures and Mickela Mallozzi of Bare Feet team up for this incredible (and beginner friendly!) tango trip to Argentina.
During this dance trip, you will meet dancers featured on the Argentina episode of Bare Feet, eat delicious local food, dance tango at local milongas, hear various types of Argentine music, and see beautiful architecture around Buenos Aires.
You’ll also have a chance to visit an estancia–a rural estate that was once the private getaway of a wealthy family. There, you’ll meet gauchos and learn about gaucho culture, try a gaucho dance class and have the option to go horseback riding through the beautiful countryside.

Mickela Mallozzi, founder of Bare Feet
Mickela is the Emmy Award-winning host of Bare Feet–a television show that features different dances from around the world. Mickela’s love for the arts began at a young age. She started dancing when she was just three years old and began playing the piano at age five. Over the years, she trained in classical and jazz piano, learned to play the violin and flute, and choreographed and performed with prestigious dance companies. Immediately before launching Bare Feet, Mickela taught jazz, tap, ballet, and lyrical at the Locust Performing Arts Center in Stamford, Connecticut, as well as taught The Masala Bhangra Workout® at The Ailey Extension in New York City. Mickela divides her time between New York City and Nashville, Tennessee.
Melaina Spitzer, Director of Dance Adventures
After seven years in Latin America, Melaina returned to her hometown of Boston, Massachusetts to work with Dance Adventures and launch her coaching company Inner Peacebuilding. While abroad, she lived in Argentina, Brazil and Ecuador where she studied local dances.
In Buenos Aires, Argentina, Melaina fell in love with dancing and singing Tango, reported on the Tango de Salon Championships for the BBC, and completed her Master’s in Peace, Conflict, and Security as a Rotary World Peace Fellow.
Over the years, Melaina has led youth trips in Africa and South America for National Geographic and Putney Student Travel. She also serves as a Senior Program Facilitator for World Learning each summer. Through this experience and her work with Dance Adventures, she has seen firsthand the power of dance to facilitate personal growth and community building.
|1||Welcome to Argentina! After we check you into your accommodations, we’ll take a tour of the neighborhood and you’ll have time to relax before your first big night on the town. Our welcome celebration this evening includes a beautiful dinner and a tango show.|
|2||Your orientation today includes a Spanish crash course and a two-hour tango class with Ines Rossetti from the Bare Feet Argentina episode. This evening, we enjoy a parilla dinner and dancing at a beautiful outdoor milonga.|
|3||We’ll spend the day at San Telmo Market where you can watch tango dancers, explore antique shops, and find many delicious places to have lunch. In the evening, we head out for more tango!|
|4||In the morning, we depart for the estancia where you will enjoy delicious meals, folkloric demonstrations and a gaucho dance lesson. Horseback riding is an option, but you can also simply relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.|
|5||On our way back to Buenos Aires, we stop at a small town famous for its silversmiths. You’ll have time to have lunch, explore, and buy a few souvenirs. We will arrive back at our Buenos Aires hotel in the late afternoon. After you unpack and rest, we will head out to a new milonga.|
|6||Today is a free day on the town. You can go shoe shopping, visit the botanic garden, or check out any of the other activities you’ve been interested to do in this amazing city. In the evening, we head to a tango lesson and milonga where simple (and delicious!) food and drink is served.|
|7||After a free morning, we head to the Recoleta Cemetary to see the tombs of many famous Argentinians, including Evita. This evening, we treat you to a very special dinner at one of our favorite spots in Buenos Aires.|
|8||Enjoy a visit to Caminito–the neighborhood where tango was born. In the evening, we take a lesson with Ines and head to another beautiful milonga.|
|9||In addition to visiting the World Tango Museum, you will also have free time to buy souvenirs or see any other sites around the city. In the evening, we meet up for a final parilla dinner.|
|10||This is your last day in Buenos Aires before your flight home. After checking out of the hotel, you can head back to San Telmo market or enjoy another activity of your choice. We all meet back at the hotel in the evening to transfer to the airport.|
